Reclining Women
The top image is part of a very visible campaign to sell underarm deodorant. I first saw it as a TV commercial. The larger than life woman is saying something to the tiny little man. She laughs and smiles a lot and is very jolly. It struck me as refreshin g to have such an ample woman portrayed in the media.

When we were on our way up to Doi Sutep, the northernmost temple in Thailand, we saw the other woman, a food vendor, lounging in the midday heat. I had to take a picture and juxtapose the two. When Eric motioned that we wanted to photograph her, she just smiled and laughed.

After I saw a few reclining Buddha statues, I suddenly realized why that position looked so familiar!
